A challenging and time-consuming design, these pansies are nevertheless a particular favourite of Thomas’s. Brittle black marble was precisely and methodically inlaid into the central face of the flowers, and careful cutting, filing and a lot of patience was needed to get the precise result with no broken edges.

An exquisite and incredibly rare piece of yellow chalcedony (calcedonio giallo) embues the pansy with wonderfully subtle shading. With just enough of this quality stone to depict this one yellow pansy, it makes it a unique creation.
